He attributes a lot of his character and style to his late father; he grew up watching his Dad in the farm shed, repairing and making all types of useful pieces. He has also been in infuenced by the shaping of the land, working with nature’s physical forms and elements giving him an appreciation of natural beauty and its presence. His works are held in private and public collections; public works in the greater Auckland region include Nikau, at the Auckland Botanical Garden; Pride positioned in front of Pukekohe Town Hall, Auckland; Whakaparirau, taking ight on Hauraki corner on the North Shore, Auckland; and most recently Treeman at Eastwoodhill Arboretum, Gisborne.
