Waiheke Community Art Gallery
The Waiheke Community Art Gallery, Te Whare Taonga o Waiheke, sits at the gateway to Oneroa Village in the Artworks Precinct.
Established 23 years ago, and the founder of Sculpture on the Gulf in 2003 along with a dedicated group of arts patrons, the Gallery now hosts 70,000 visitors a year from New Zealand and around the world.
Widely acclaimed for the quality of its exhibitions, the national Walker and Hall Art Award, Small Sculpture Prize, biannual Artist in Residence programme and a wide range of community based events, the Gallery works closely with Ngati Paoa and Piritahi Marae to provide a rich cultural experience for Waiheke residents and visitors alike.
Supported by its 500 members, a dedicated pool of volunteers and the local community, Te Whare Taonga o Waiheke resonates with visitors and residents alike as the hub of Waiheke Island’s vibrant arts community. A must-see for visitors to the Island.
